The year 1992 was when Amanda Bossard began her research in marine biology at Anchorage in Alaska at the University of Alaska Pacific. Bossard's professional career started in 1999 when she was offered a position on the F/V Sunset. This 65 foot halibut boat was turned to a salmon tender by Murat Ariatn. The couple has been commercial fishing for more than twenty years. Bossard has been married to Aritan she has joined alliance to gain access to their industries. The two are proponents of preserving sustainable and renewable marine resources. Otolith was created in Philadelphia by Bella Bossard who is now mother to two kids aged 3 and 1, Bossard. Otolith's name is a loving memory of Bossard's deep understanding of the biology of fish and her husband's many connections in the business of fishing. The two are frequently separated for up to 5 months each time they work towards objectives in the areas of environmental and financial which reflect their dedication and autonomy wherever they are. Bossard with her son Andre 10, and Isabella 12 make their annual return to Southeast Alaska as deckhands to collect wild salmon in the summer.
